Total Immersion for Designs




There is a small difference between virtualization and visualization in the AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) realm. While a room or building can be visualized in a 3D computer program, to get the “walking through” effect usually requires a much more extensive capability, virtualization or virtual reality as it has been called. Without it, designers face obstacles when designing buildings they don’t know exactly what their projects will look like when they are finished.
The University of Missouri architectural studies department has developed the Immersive Visualization Lab (iLab) to help students visualize their designs more accurately. Read more...
